‘Mother,’ the great and strongest person - World Mission Society Church of God

While a mother living with her two sons was just outside the house, the house was set on fire.

Receiving an urgent call, the mother arrived. Without hesitation and thinking that the two sons would be sleeping, she jumped into the fire and came out with her sons all wrapped in a blanket.

The sons who got rescued were unharmed. But the mother’s entire body was burned, and her leg was wounded, which eventually made her limp. 

From that moment, the mother raised her sons by begging for money. With the sacrifice of their mother, the eldest son got in the Tokyo University, and the second to the Waseda University, both as the head of their classes.

Time passed, and it was the day for the sons’ graduation. The mother who wanted to see her sons graduate, she first went to Tokyo University. Graduating from the head of his classes, the eldest son already got approved by a large company.

The eldest son saw his mother looking for him by the reception. 

As it was a place with honored guests, he was embarrassed. He told the reception to tell her that “there is no such person,” and so the mother went back with a sad face. Being forsaken from her eldest son, with sorrow, she went to the Waseda University for her second son’s graduation.

However she couldn't possibly find her son so she turned her steps towards the school gate. Just at that moment, the second son found his mother leaving the place,hobbling in a great hurry. The son shouted for his mother and carrying her on his back, he took her inside.

Though the mother said “You have the wrong person,” the son sat her in the middle of the honored guests. As the honored guests all adorned with costly jewels started to chatter to each other, the mother didn't know what to do.

Making a valedictory speech, he pointed at his shabby mother who sat on the seat for honored guests and talked about his mother’s sacrifice; how she rescued him from fire, begged for their living, and educated him. The people who had hatred towards his mother, after realizing about his mother’s sacrifice, they were all moved into tears.

This news became known with newspaper and broadcasting. The second son became the son-in-law of a large company’s owner; however the eldest who was ashamed of his mother got a cancellation for his previous approval of a large company.

Rescuing the son despite of getting the body all injured, begging to educate the son, doing everything, whatever sacrifice it takes for the child, that person is ‘Mother.’

Sneakers filled with Father’s love - Christ Ahnsahnghong

"Sam, you better go to bed early for school tomorrow.”
"Whatever."
The reason why Sam answered bluntly was because of his sneakers.  
It was a week ago when Sam got totally embarrassed;when his old sneakers were torn while running during PE.
After that day, he tried to tell his father about his sneakers by chance, however because of the small income these days,his father doesn't seem to understand.
A week passed and tomorrow approached and was the time when Sam had PE outside. He didn't want to wear those torn sneakers so he tried to think of a way to skip school.
"Sam, wake up. Eat your breakfast before you go and don’t forget to take your lunch.”
Out of all days, Sam couldn't understand why his Dad was such in hurry today. He just hated his Dad.
'Mom would have bought me new ones if she was alive...’
Sam’s mother ended up dying last year,after being hospitalized for a long time.
Because of his mother’s medical expenses, they had to move out from their actual place and live in this current one.
Being disabled, his father couldn't work for quite a while. Since it’s been just a few days since his father has started to work with the job given by the city, which was the reason why Sam couldn't possibly tell his father about the sneakers.
Sam was consulting his father’s pocket.
Being distressed and longing for his mother, he stood up swallowing his tears.
When he put his bag on his shoulder and sat on the threshold to put on his shoes, he was startled.
There was a pair of sneakers with a drawing on a white background.
The sneakers weren't new and seemed to be picked up by some place.
Being disabled, his father would have been having a difficult time washing the sneakers.
As Sam picked up the white sneakers, he saw a small note.
"I can’t give you the best shoes in the world, but live this world with the most valuable pace.”
After reading the note Sam shed his tears for a while and tightly hugged the sneakers. The sneakers filled with father’s love...

Reading this story,I reflected to myself who only wanted to have better clothes, better shoes, better bags, wanting more of the better ones, only focusing on my appearance.
Not wanting to have the best, but I made a resolution; with most valuable heart, I will put the most valuable pace on the path opened by Heavenly Father’s love.

God’s gift - World Mission Society Church of God

‘ OK, once more time, ah-ee-ooh-eh-oh…hahaha!  Hello, God bless you.”

What am I doing now?  I’m doing a smiling practice in front of the mirror.”

In my childhood, people used to say I laughed readily smiling with my eyes.  At some point, however, my beautiful smile and laugh just disappeared, ever since I started to get greedy and earthly.  At the same time, I couldn't lead any one single soul to Zion.

Now I come to practice laughing and smiling in front of the mirror.

I sometimes nod my head and practice narrating the introduction of our church.  I also practice smiling watching the shape of my mouth and eyes.  As it gets so awkward, I have some convulsion around my mouth.  Unlike smiling and laughing, making a grimace and expressionless face were more comfortable.

‘How could it be more comfortable?  I must have been expressionless for a long time.  Did I not laugh that seriously?’

Looking at the mirror, I started to change my look and raise the tone of my voice.  Then all of a sudden, Mother in calendar jumped to the eyes.  
Mother with full of benevolence and smile at all times.  In spite of promising to resemble Her repeatedly, I didn't even change my expression, which gets my thoughts once again.

As I made a resolution to ‘glorify Heavenly Father and Heavenly Mother’ with a smiling face, I come to get the strength.  Somehow, it seems to have good news.  Comparing to my little hope to preach the good news with a laughing practice looking at the mirror, Heavenly Mother did me much more favor.  To this child having no fruits for long time, She allowed me to bear a beautiful fruit.  Now, I could understand practicing laughing delivers hope and courage not only to me but to all people in this world.

It is surely a God’s gift to let all lost children make a laugh of Heavenly happy sound, though we all lost it in the life of pain and agony, wearing the sinful clothes on the earth.

“Ha-ha! Ho-ho!”

I sincerely pray I could finally preach the gospel with a smile some day.

Without Mother’s Sacrifice - World Mission Society Church of God

This is a touching story from a program that I watched on TV.

It was about a mother and her son with a first class physical disability.

When the mother first found about her son’s disability, she had to live a desperate life full of agony.

However, not teaching one or two times like other children, she started teaching her son more than hundreds times repeatedly; and said to herself, “My son is not disabled. He is just a bit l ate than other children.”

The son graduated all regular schools;elementary, junior high and high school, and got into a university that many students applied. Now, he is currently a freshman attending university.

How did he study?

His IQ was only 34, which was impossible for him to study just like ordinary students.

Though it was impossible for him to keep up with his schoolwork, his mother became his hands and feet, taking him everywhere to teach him repeatedly about the objects around him, such as door,restroom, mirror, and refrigerator. She posted the words and usage for those objects, for her son to remember.

Whenever she had time, she continued teaching him repeatedly, sitting face to face.

After she sent him to bed, without rest,she then finished her housework, all the laundry and cleaning.

However, she wasn't tired at all and smiled brightly, saying that her son is so handsome.

To make her son walk, she made him stand so many times, and now the son who couldn't even stand alone, can barely walk holding on to his mother. She walks with him, even wrapping sandbags on his legs, for the realignment and strength, and strictly teaches him to be independent.

The mother’s dream is for her son to get a job and receive salaries, all by himself.

Though he had to live his whole life lying down, because of mother’s help he could get in the university without being absent, not a single day.  

Enduring the ponderous son as a delicate woman, the mother’s love was truly great.  

Just like the son who found a new life with his mother’s great love, from the body of death, Heavenly children’s body turned into a body of hope for new life. That is, through our Heavenly Mother,New Jerusalem.

I thank Heavenly Mother for making me a true person, a sinner who cannot live a single day without Mother’s sacrifice.

Father is our pride and love - World Mission Society Church of God

While the family of father, mother, and a daughter was traveling, they had an accident. It was a big accident in which the car rolled down on a slope.Though the mother wounded slightly, the father and the daughter wounded severely, and had to be hospitalized.

The daughter’s wound was especially deep. Despite of all the treatments that had been done, she had to live her whole life on crutches. At that time, she was going on puberty, which created a deep scar in her heart. While her friends enjoyed PE, she just had to sit under the shade and watch.

When her friends chattered and hung out in groups, she had to come home on her crutches. She cried a lot. Her father,who was also on crutches, was her only comfort.

When the daughter complained, the father; who knew well about her circumstances, accepted her complains without words. The only happiness that the daughter had was when she talked to her father sitting on the bench in the park.

Going through the difficult times of puberty, the daughter went into college. The father came to her orientation and hugged her tightly.

“I am so proud of you,being my daughter.”

One day, on the same year, the family was walking along together. There was a small child playing with his ball.

When the ball rolled down the big road,the child ran to pick it up without looking around. Then something amazing happened.

The father threw his crutches away, ran to the road, took the child, and crossed to the other side of the road. The father ran nimbly and naturally. The daughter couldn't believe her eyes.

After a while, embracing the daughter the mother whispered:

“Darling, I think it’s time for you to know. Actually, your father is not ill at all. He got well after being hospitalized.

But after knowing that you had to live your life on crutches, he willingly wanted to live on crutches. He said he must share your pain. His clients, even his cousins don’t know about this at all. I twas a secret between your father and me.”

Looking at the father waving his hands on the other side of the road, the daughter shed her tears endlessly. Father is our pride and love.

How to Give Love - World Mission Society Church of God

I once saw it on a TV about a puppy who lost its owner.

The puppy was wandering around the village hiding itself in secluded areas, away from the people.

For quite a while, the puppy couldn’t be washed and trimmed. So they first took it to the vet, did the checkups, and trimmed out all the dirty fur. 

I felt sorry for the puppy that was afraid of the people and avoided them, though they were trying to help.

However, after a week it has been sent to a shelter, the puppy eventually started to open its heart.

How could it possibly open its heart when it couldn’t communicate with people?

There is a way to express love towards the puppy, putting it at ease.

Being with it always, embracing it tightly,lending a warm hand, and huddling to it while it was sleeping; all were the only way to express love towards the puppy who couldn’t speak.

Running away from people, and being stained with filth; those figures that it had, all disappeared. I was pleased seeing it following the person who was protecting it, and how clean and tidy it was.

Continually putting into actions by pulling out the burning love from one’s deepest heart, at last opens the heart of a person or even of an animal.

When the children were all stained with filthy sins, wandering here and there, and without knowing where to rely on, our Heavenly Father and Heavenly Mother had pity on these souls.

How painful would they have been seeing their children taking their two steps backwards, as they try to take a step forward to their children?

For the first time, when we eventually opened our hearts and as we are realizing Heavenly Father and Heavenly Mother’s love, we come to know that Their burning love that they have shown for a long time is a series of painful days.

Tamed with the sinful habits, we only tried to avoid that warm hand, and we were scared of the glorious bright light since we have only been through the dreary dark places. For these children, They have always embraced us and helped us being by our sides.

Elohim God, I truly thank You.

An Empty House without Mom - World Mission Society Church of God

When I got home after work, my mom wasn’t there as usual.

Whenever I arrived home after work, and opened the door, she would say,

"You did well today. How was it?”

As I always have heard her voice speaking a word or two,

I felt strange not seeing my mom welcoming me.

Though I knew where she went, I couldn’t help myself to feel sad.

The empty house without mom made a cold atmosphere.

When I called her, she said she was on the way home and will arrive in ten minutes.

All by myself, I waited for ten minutes. It seemed that it took such a long time for her to come.

I guess that is why a house is a place where mom is.

I think it would be the same when we go back to our Heavenly home.

‘Mom’ is the name of existence that is warm and cozy.

There was a time when a member asked me a question.

"If Heaven does not exist, would you still believe in God?”

‘How could God exist when Heaven does not?’

I thought to myself.

However, the member’s words really made me feel embarrassed.

"Don’t we have to believe in God even if Heaven does not exist? Isn't it natural for the children to believe in their Father and follow their Mother?”

She was absolutely right.

Our beautiful Heavenly home, which cannot be described with human words...

Since Heavenly Mother is there, that place becomes my home, and I can enjoy the rest and peace for my soul.

Just For the Child - World Mission Society Church of God

The rest of my mom’s life is shorter than the life she has been living. She goes in and out of the hospital as if it is her home.

Since she repeats being hospitalized and getting discharged because of constant fainting and tripling,I always had to hear the news from my elder sisters. Being the sixth of the seven children, I lived in Chicago and all the rest of my family lived in Indiana.I thought she was fainting because of vertigo, but after knowing that it happened because of her blurry sight, I returned to Chicago.

After having a checkup in a hospital, she had the result that she has lost almost all of her sight of one of her eyes. She was also diagnosed that her other eye was on the primary stage of macular degeneration. The doctor said that if she leaves her other eye without operation, she will lose all of her sight.

Being the youngest, after setting the date of operation, I decided to be with her.

Living a life only for her children,she endured the pain all alone without saying that she was ill, worrying that the children might worry about her.

I was thankful having the time with my mom. Meanwhile, she was delivered to Zion, into Heavenly Mother’s arms. She got rid of the idols that she had been worshiping for a long time; out of her heart.Taking her to the hospital,nursing, and preparing warm meals for her, I was so thankful for having the opportunity to serve my mom. My heavy heart became light as a feather. Reminiscing about my mom’s life, which was only for her children, I realized a bit of Heavenly Mother’s great love and sacrifice.

Though She is hurt, She wouldn't say, though She is tired, She wouldn't say.

I give eternal thanks for Heavenly Mother’s love, the love of looking only after Her children. Now, I want to be a good daughter for my Heavenly Mother.

Elohim God,has given us the true life and blessings of eternal life for these souls living a life in vain. With God’s love coming from my heart,I realize that the only opportunity to repay for their grace is to preach the gospel.

I truly thank Heavenly Mother who is still delivering the message of love for these children who are sinners.
